Tips voor het gebruik van kokos substraat
Vochtbeheer
Planten hebben een gelijkmatige vochtigheid nodig, maar vermijd te natte grond. Kokos substraat houdt water goed vast. Controleer daarom regelmatig of de bovenlaag droog aanvoelt voordat je opnieuw water geeft.
Goede luchtigheid
Een luchtige bodem zorgt voor gezonde wortelgroei. Meng kokos substraat eventueel met perliet, hydrokorrels of andere bodemverbeteraars voor extra drainage en ventilatie.
Voeding
Kokos substraat bevat van nature weinig voedingsstoffen. Geef daarom regelmatig plantenvoeding tijdens het groeiseizoen voor optimale groei en ontwikkeling.

Beste moment om te verpotten
Verpot planten wanneer de wortels te weinig ruimte krijgen of wanneer de potgrond uitgeput raakt. Voor de meeste planten is het voorjaar de beste periode om te verpotten.
Kies de juiste pot
Gebruik altijd een pot met drainagegaten om overtollig water af te voeren en wortelrot te voorkomen. Kies een pot die past bij de grootte en wortelgroei van de plant.
Bereid het kokos substraat voor
Maak het kokos substraat licht vochtig voordat je het gebruikt. Hierdoor verdeelt het substraat zich makkelijker rondom de wortels en krijgen planten een goede start.
Drainagelaag aanbrengen
Breng onderin de pot een dunne laag hydrokorrels, grind of kleine stenen aan voordat je het kokos substraat toevoegt. Dit bevordert een goede waterafvoer en gezonde wortels.
