Dianthus

Dianthus, known as carnations or pinks, are known for their colorful flowers with fringed edges, ranging from white to pink, red, and purple. Dianthus for outdoor planting performs best in full sun and prefers well-draining, alkaline soil. They are relatively drought-tolerant once established, but bloom more abundantly with regular watering during dry periods. A monthly feeding with a slow-release fertilizer promotes growth and flowering. These plants are perfect for borders, rock gardens, and as ground covers.
